The #1 mistake homeowners make before an appraisal is often being too emotionally attached to the value and letting that cloud their judgment. While we completely understand that there are a number of personal reasons a buyer and/or seller might have an emotional attachment to the value, we simply do not and cannot have that ourselves. Appraisers are not emotionless robots by any means, but when it comes to the job we do, it’s literally the point of our job; to take the emotions and biases out of the transaction.
